TESTIMONIALS
We're really grateful for the feedback we receive with some shown below:
1. Tami Cutter, 6th and 7th Grade Science Teacher at the American International School of Guangzhou
Henry visited AISG as a Scientist-In-Residence to do workshops on climate change with each of our MS science classes. To kick off his weeklong visit, Henry gave an engaging presentation about his expedition to Antarctica, providing details, photos, and other visuals that had the kids sitting on the edge of their seats. In small groups, Henry proved to be a natural teacher, using instructional strategies that kept students engaged and making changes to fit the needs of each class.
As climate change continues to threaten our planet, Henry’s work in schools becomes more and more relevant, not to mention more necessary. He would be an excellent resource for any school to begin or further the conversation with kids about our planet’s current crisis and what we can do about it. It was a pleasure working with Henry and we hope to have him visit again soon!

The children were very engaged at all times and really fed off Henry’s energy and passion for the subject's covered. We had children and teachers coming away inspired by what they had seen and wanting to maintain contact with Henry after the event.

Henry’s broad and deep knowledge and passion for Environmental Sciences and his ability to teach with enthusiasm to students of different ages (Year 2 to 6) has made his inputs (through personal visits and classes by Skype) to our Biodiversity Club precious moments that each time we were looking forward to. Henry has definitely enriched our club classes. Under his guidance and his examples, students learnt about the climate change impacts on plant and animal biodiversity from global, regional and local levels. It was a great pleasure working with a professional with such high expertise and at the same time being careful, enthusiastic and open, and I do hope we will collaborate further in the future on different fronts.

Henry came to our school and delivered an amazing school wide presentation to Years 1-6. The children were so engaged the whole time and really enjoyed learning new things about the planet. His manner with the children is excellent and age appropriate and the children all respond really well to his questioning.
He then did an hour-long workshop with the Year 1's around plastic pollution and waste on our planet. The children had many things to add to his presentation and they came up with many facts and interesting ideas together as a group. The children then had a chance to make an impact on the environment by writing letters to someone they think needs to know the things they learned. Many of the children who were reluctant writers found this very motivating and wrote some really nice pieces of writing. Thanks Henry!

Henry gave talks at BISP to a range of groups from Year 1 up to Year 13 IB. He knew his audience and was able to tailor the presentation for these wide ranging group dynamics. In the Secondary School, our students were highly engaged in the talks, and though some groups were a little too quiet, Henry was able to coax out their participation. The video clips were enthralling and Henry's props, including the penguin suit, had even the older kids excited. Henry's passion for climate change and sustainability issues came over strong and certainly seemed to inspire a number of students. The proof of the pudding for me is how many students remained after the sessions to further seek Henry's insights and advice.

Henry added credibility and depth to the learning my AP Language and Composition students were doing around audience and purpose. He was able to share his own experiences as a professional writer and engage students in authentic writing practice. From the first time we spoke to Henry, I appreciated his interest in designing an experience for our students that honoured our curriculum and student population. I hope to work with Henry again in the future.

Henry’s visit was a treat for our students. Combining science with exploration tied into a number of classes and his enthusiasm to science and exploration certainly kept the students engaged. Henry’s overall message regarding climate change was pertinent and timely. His presentations tied into our classroom content and provided a platform for students to grow intellectually. AISB wishes Henry all the best, thank you!

Henry Evans strikes up an immediate and effortless rapport with students of many grade levels. He is able to talk up, or down, depending on the students in front of him. My students found him engaging and took a lot from his lessons on climate change, and loved the fact that he has 'walked the walk'. His ability to link a global issue to local examples was of particular interest to my students. I look forward to working with Henry again in the future.

Henry engaged and enthralled our learners with his experiences in Antarctica. His passion for Marine Biology and Climate change was interwoven with examples of how he 'Takes Action' and raises awareness of important Global Issues. Henry was also a true role-model for our learners as a speaker at our PYP Exhibition.

Henry Evans was a real hit at the British School Yangon. From the initial contact to his delivery of assemblies and workshops he remained professional and detailed in his approach to the children's learning. By showing consideration to the children's interests, from ages 3-13, he delivered engaging and thought-provoking assemblies and workshops. Through an after-school workshop, our staff also experienced first-hand his passion for the environment as they took part in his research project that stimulated a great deal of discussion. His enthusiasm is infectious!

11. Andrew Green, Year 2 teacher and Primary Head of Science and Humanities at Kinabalu International School, Malaysian Borneo
From the first contact with Mr Henry it was always a pleasure talking to him. I arranged for Mr Henry to visit Kinabalu International School for a full day, half a day with Primary and half a day with Secondary. I collected Mr Henry at his hotel and he was a pleasure to talk to. He then had two primary talks which he pitched perfectly for the children and changed the talk to adapt to the different ages. The talk was very interesting and interactive! The feedback from the teachers and the pupils was that it was a great success and we would love to have Mr Henry back at KIS in the near future. Thank you for your wonderful talks and good luck in the future.

Henry’s visit turned out to be a really special day for our students. The assemblies with Henry were exciting and educational, He delivered his presentations appropriately for the different age groups in the school. While the older students were drawn in by scientific information, our younger students were excited to hear from a real explorer who allowed them to try on some of his equipment. The students had many questions and Henry answered all of them patiently. His friendly and positive manner set a great example to our students and showed them what a scientific career may look like.
I can certainly recommend for schools, irrespective of the age group, to invite Henry and to work with and inspire their students.

"When Henry came to visit us he was inspirational, very in touch with even our youngest children and engaging , especially when dressing up in the penguin costume!
Henry had some very important messages, work hard and you will succeed, take care of the environment as our world is both a precious & fragile resource and go out there and live your life.
I would thoroughly recommend a visit by Henry to any school, anywhere in the world."

“To see and hear someone so young talking about caring for the planet, so that future generations may enjoy it as much as we are now, is an absolute inspiration to both students and teachers.
During Henry Evans’ talk it made me think more deeply about how we can structure our Science lessons at Al Bateen Academy in Abu Dhabi towards a greater appreciation of inclusion, entitlement, challenge and support to enrich all students and prepare them for the challenges of 21st century life.
In our auditorium there was a stimulating learning climate with a high level of diversity, enhancing ideas closely between local culture and global issues, giving a balanced view.
In the talk, open ended and higher order questions and learning activities were apparent. Henry required the students to reason, reflecting on their learning and responding accordingly.
The students’ attitudes to his session were exemplary; they demonstrated excellent concentration demonstrating a developed resilience when tackling challenging concepts around climate change and global warming.
As well as learning about a variety of motivating exploration and Science topics, as part of Henry’s current research, the students also took part in an exciting global climate change literacy project, and completed a questionnaire live in the auditorium using many different types of mobile device.
In summary, this session from Henry assisted the students in their development of enquiry, reflection, critical thinking and problem solving skills across a variety of subject areas, whilst enhancing their appreciation for the preservation of the world they live in.”

‘Having Henry visit our school was an absolute privilege! The workshops were engaging, lively, well-tailored to the needs of our learners and really brought our Science curriculum to life. If you are a teacher thinking about having Henry visit your school well in the words of one of my students “That was a brilliant lesson! It’s not like you ’ve been to the South Pole is it Sir!”

There was a buzz of excitement throughout the day of the visit. The children eagerly awaited for their turn to hear all about the exciting adventures Henry had been on. Our children talked about exploring the world and had many questions to ask. I would highly recommend schools to organise Henry Evans to visit them to inspire more children.
Engaging workshops were held across our primary school and he was able to tailor his presentations well to meet the needs of all our students.

Amazing, awesome, cool! These were just a few of the words that the children used to describe Henry and his adventures. The children were immersed in Henry, a real explorer as the kids put it, and they haven't stopped talking about him. Henry often comes up in our teaching, whether it be through English, Science, Topic and Computing, the children relate it to meeting a real-life scientist & explorer. This is one of those learning experiences that the children will remember and talk about for the rest of their lives. What made all of this happen was the way in which Henry delivered his experiences to the children; interactive, excitement, fast paced, use of technology, engaging, and above all, he got down to the children's level. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for all, thank you Mr Henry.
